In 2012, the dilapidated half-timbered house in Konvent was listed as unsalvageable and threatened with demolition - in 2016 it was restored to its old glory again. The aim of the restoration of the beautiful little building built in 1666, was to rebuild the house and save its historic character.
Quedlinburg received the status of a world cultural heritage site from UNESCO in the 1990s. Since then, more than 1000 houses have been historically renovated - the entire old town center with its medieval flair is now a world cultural heritage.
